Side Effects of Epiduo
Epiduo is generally well tolerated, but because it contains a retinoid and benzoyl peroxide, it commonly affects the skin—especially during the first few weeks of treatment.

Important Warnings
Benzoyl peroxide will permanently bleach or discolour fabrics, towels, pillowcases, and clothing it comes into contact with. Use white or old towels and pillowcases and allow the gel to dry completely before contact with fabric.
Adapalene increases photosensitivity. Daily SPF 30 or higher broad-spectrum sunscreen is essential throughout treatment. Failure to protect the skin from UV exposure increases the risk of sunburn and may worsen skin irritation.
Some patients experience an apparent increase in spots — commonly called "purging" — during the first 4–6 weeks of retinoid treatment. This occurs because adapalene accelerates the turnover of pre-existing microcomedones, bringing lesions to the surface more rapidly.
